The Great Schouwburg Database will contain all information available concerning the Schouwburg of Amsterdam between its opening in 1638 and the fire of 1772. This online database will store rich data on the repertoire, the revenues, and the networks of the theatre hall. These networks included regents, writers, translators, printers, editors, and actors. At the moment, this data is dispersed, available in the form of partial studies and printed datasets. By bringing all these sources together and placing them online it will be possible to analyze the artistic, social and economic trends of the Schouwburg well into the eighteenth century.
